Kreindler Monitoring Missing Medical Transport Jet Near Massachusetts
What Happened
Early Saturday morning on October 3, 2026, a Gulfstream G100 Astra SPX medical transport plane traveling from Bermuda to Boston lost contact with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), according to the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard began a search off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts, involving airplanes, boats, and a helicopter. According to news reports, the aircraft departed from L.F. Wade International Airport on St. David’s Island in Bermuda on Friday at 11:40pm local time and was carrying six people: two pilots, two medical staff and two passengers.
According to the Canadian Civil Aircraft Register, the Astra SPX, registry number C-GRJP, is a twin-engine, midsize business jet manufactured by Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) and later rebranded as the Gulfstream G100. The aircraft is registered to Latitude Air Ambulance, a medical patient evacuation company based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

According to the Coast Guard, the two pilots and the two medical staff are reported to be from Canada and the patient and relative are from Bermuda. Coast Guard airplanes, helicopters, lifeboats and a fast-response cutter as well as aircraft from the New York Air National Guard's 106th Rescue Wing continue to search for the missing aircraft and the occupants.
