Kreindler Investigating Fatal Motor Coach Tour Bus Crash in Virginia
What Happened
On Friday, May 29, 2026, at approximately 2:35 a.m., a motorcoach tour bus approached a work zone on Interstate 95, apparently causing a chain-reaction crash that killed 5 people and injured over 40 more. According to news reports, the driver of the motor coach involved in the crash north of Quantico, Virginia, has been criminally charged with 2 counts of involuntary manslaughter. The motor coach, en route from New York, New York, and bound for North Carolina, hit a Chevrolet Suburban SUV, which then crashed into an Acura SUV that hit additional vehicles. The bus went on to hit even more vehicles.
Among those killed were four members of a Massachusetts family, who were traveling in the Acura SUV. Another person killed, from Worcester, Massachusetts, was in the Chevrolet Suburban. The driver of the tour bus was injured and taken to a hospital, where he remains under arrest. He will not appear in court until he is discharged from the hospital.
The tour bus was operated by E & P Travel Inc., based out of Kings Mountain, North Carolina. The bus trip originated in New York, New York and was headed to North Carolina when it crashed in Stafford County, Virginia. The bus driver is reportedly from Staten Island, NY, and is reported to be a U.S. citizen originally from China who does not speak English.
