Kreindler Investigating Deadly Fire at the Gabriel House Assisted Living Facility in Fall River, Massachusetts
What Happened
On Sunday, July 13, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Fall River Fire Department crews responded to a deadly fire at the Gabriel House Assisted Living facility in Fall River, Massachusetts, approximately 60 miles south of Boston. The fire killed nine people, and another 30 were injured. A report by The Herald News indicates that window air conditioning units made rescue efforts difficult.
CNN reported that the three-story Gabriel House, in operation since 1999, housed about 70 residents at the time of the fire. Reportedly, around 50 firefighters and "every police officer in the city" were on the scene after an automatic alarm system was triggered, alerting first responders to the emergency.

Local and state authorities, including the Massachusetts State Police, will be investigating the cause of the fire.
