Kreindler Following the MS Explorer Sinking Off Antarctic
Kreindler & Kreindler has experience in maritime disaster cases like the sinking of the MS Explorer in the frigid waters off Antarctica on November 23, 2007.
Our inside information is that a Toronto venue contact clause applies in the case, which may implicate Canadian law. Claims arising from the sinking are governed by the Athens Convention relating to Carriage of Passengers and Their Luggage by Sea, 1974. The convention has a liability limit of about $70,000, but there are exceptions to the limit.
We are currently involved with another Athens Convention case litigating a very serious injury on a cruise to Antarctica. We believe we can achieve beneficial settlements for MS Explorer victims, and we have relationships with top Canadian maritime lawyers if cases need to be litigated in Canada.
