Kreindler Attorney Erin Applebaum on Long Island News 12 Warning About Hidden City Ticketing
Attorney
Kreindler attorney Erin Applebaum speaks with Long Island News 12’s Prashanthi Musapet with a warning about how attempting to cheat an airline may get you sued.
When a flight to a destination is more expensive than a flight that uses the desired destination as a layover, you may be tempted to buy the ticket with the layover. If you purchase the second option and skipped the final leg, Applebaum says that by not complying with the terms of the carrier you may open yourself up to legal action. “When you purchase an airline ticket, you are essentially signing a contract… While this is not necessarily illegal, it is against the terms of the contract of carriage that you agree to when you buy your airline ticket.”
