Gretchen Nelson, a Kreindler & Kreindler LLP partner in the firm's Los Angeles office, was recently quoted in newspapers across the nation regarding the July 18, 2006 Crown Princess accident off Florida where crew negligence caused the ship to wildly list over, emptying swimming pools and throwing people and furniture about the deck.
Kreindler & Kreindler LLP represents thirty-one passengers in a law suit filed in Los Angles, which seeks compensation for the accident's victims. Dan Rose, a partner in the firm's New York office is working with Gretchen Nelson on the case.

Kreindler partner Brian Alexander is quoted regarding the latest elitist trend of mini jets, coined the "McJets", that allows investments bankers, doctors or lawyers to purchase small, light jets at the price of a house in Westchester, but may come at a higher price in the long run.
The FAA, as well as Brian Alexander, are worried about over-congested skies filled with under-skilled millionaire jet pilots.

Family's Fight for Volunteer Firefighter, Glenn Winuk
Andrew Maloney Wins Appeal of September 11 Hero.
June 28, 2007
NY Daily News
» Read article
The Kreindler firm is happy to announce that Andrew Maloney has won an major appeal over the U.S. Department of Justice on behalf of Glenn Winuk's family.
Glenn was one of the heroes of the September 11 attacks. A long-time volunteer fireman and EMT in Long Island, on September 11, 2001, Glenn was a partner in the law firm Holland & Knight two blocks away from the World Trade Center. Instead of running away, he ran toward the World Trade Center as he had done during the 1993 attacks. Glenn produced his Jericho Fire Dept. credentials, donned EMS gear and entered the South Tower.
He was killed when the Tower collapsed. His body was found several months later with a stethoscope on, surgical gloves and a paramedic bag by his side. He was found beside FDNY rescue workers.
The Dept. of Justice refused to recognize that he was a rescue worker because his Jericho volunteer status had changed from 19 years of active membership to associate member shortly before September 11.
Andrew Maloney spent countless hours working to have Glenn recognized as a rescue worker on September 11. The firm represented the family on a pro bono basis before administrative appeals and finally before the Court of Federal Claims in Washington.
"It was one of the most rewarding cases I've ever worked on. He made the ultimate sacrifice for others he did not know, the least our Government could do was recognize those heroic efforts. Fortunately, the Court has now compelled it to do so." says Andrew.
