Medical Malpractice

In December 1999, on the eve of trial, partner Marc Moller won a settlement from the United States for injuries suffered by a serviceman because of medical malpractice committed by military physicians. The serviceman was given excessive doses of steroids which caused serious and permanent injuries. While recovery is ordinarily barred against the United States for injuries that occur to enlisted members of the armed forces, we were able to obtain a recovery by showing that a significant part of the injury was caused by the continuation of the improper treatment after the serviceman's discharge.
