NTSB Safety Recommendations A-11-92 through -95

The NTSB today released the attached safety recommendations to major airline carriers which may help prevent accidents like the 2009 American Airlines 737 runway overrun in Kingston Jamaica and this year's Caribbean Airlines crash in Georgetown Guyana. The measures call for enhanced crew training programs and manuals to ensure adequate training in tailwind landings, including a discussion of the risks associated with tailwind landings on wet or contaminated runways as related to runway overrun prevention.
